Circle of Knowledge

The Circle of Knowledge is a concept that compares an individual's knowledge to a circle. The greater the knowledge, the larger the circle, and the more unknowns exist beyond its border.[1]
Profile
When the boundaries of the circle is passed, a Knowledge Singularity is created. Every instance wherein a scholar stepped beyond the boundaries of the circle led to a significant impact on the world, such as the initial discovery of fire, the early questionings of gravity, and the first recognition of the relationship between time and space.[2]
Patavia Adler Sommerville's Solitary Waves Theory nearly confined the entire universe in the Circle of Knowledge, until Herta solved it almost a hundred Amber Eras later.[2][3]
Polka Kakamond targets individuals that are close to the circle's boundaries and stops them from leaving it. She does this to prevent the creation of deviating variables and chaotic possibilities, which will otherwise prematurely lead the universe to Finality. This was the reason she killed Rubert II and interfered with Herta's progress in the Simulated Universe.[1][4]
Trivia
- The Circle of Knowledge shares similarities with the zone of proximal development, a concept in educational psychology that represents the space between what a learner is capable of doing unsupported and what the learner cannot do even with external support.
Etymology
- The name and concept could be a reference to a quote of Albert Einstein:
As our circle of knowledge expands, so does the circumference of darkness surrounding it.
