Phantasmoon Games
Last updated 2026-09-03
When a Supplicant rises above the rest, the Elation will manifest, listen to the victor's wishes, and share THEIR authority for one minute.
The Phantasmoon Games are a divine ceremony held in honor of Aha, the Aeon of Elation, whenever the Phantasmoon waxes full on Planarcadia.[1][2]
Overview
At an unknown point in the past, the remains of Oroboros, the Aeon of Voracity, were scattered across the stars and numerous worlds, one of which was Planarcadia. There, the remains were suppressed through the power of the Path of Abundance while siphoning the power of the Path of Voracity in what came to be known as the Phantasmoon Games.[3] The Wishpower gathered through the games flowed into the Panarch Elwood, where it satiated the dead remains of Oroboros sealed at the world's core, preventing THEM from awakening. As a reward, Aha grants the victor one minute of THEIR life.[3][4]
Evanescia, an Emanator of Abundance, was brought to Planarcadia by Aha to serve as the arbitrator of the Phantasmoon Games. Aha promised to enlighten Evanescia by teaching her to understand true joy through the Phantasmoon Games' endless cycles. In return, Evanescia was tasked with upholding a single rule: the Phantasmoon Games must continue for eternity, unending like the eternal cycle of the sun and moon rising and setting.[5]
The Phantasmoon Games occur in irregular cycles, typically every thirty to fifty years. During this period, individuals from across the cosmos compete for the favor of Aha through feats designed to attract Wishpower generated by spectators.[1][6]
Origins
According to legend, Aha once painted a celestial phenomenon known as the Phantasmoon across the sky, creating the first imagenae. Drawn by this spectacle, eight Mourning Actors presented stories so shocking and extraordinary that they hoped to earn an audience with Aha. Their performance marked the beginning of the Phantasmoon Games. Since then, whenever the Phantasmoon waxes full, the Phantasmoon Games commences.[1][2]
Supplicants and Masks
Before the Phantasmoon Games officially begin, competitors participate in preliminary trials. The eight individuals who succeed each claim a Mask, earning the title of Supplicant. A Mask permanently binds to its Supplicant upon being worn. Each Mask takes on a form that reflects its wearer's soul and significantly amplifies their innate abilities. Once bonded, a Mask cannot be removed and becomes an extension of the Supplicant's identity.[1][6] In previous Phantasmoon Games, some Supplicants obtained their Masks by purchasing them with Credits, some stole them, some inherited them from their ancestors, while others drew their own.[7]
A Supplicant who loses their Mask is considered eliminated from the game. Regardless of how many Masks are destroyed during a game, eight blank Masks will always appear before the next Phantasmoon Games begin. Under normal circumstances, destroyed Masks gradually reappear across Planarcadia over the course of three to five years, often triggering small-scale mask-grabbing frenzies. While undamaged Masks remain in the possession of their wearers after the games conclude, Supplicants cannot participate a second time, rendering the blank Masks useless to them. Some Supplicants pass their Mask on to the next generation, which is considered a fortunate outcome.[6][8]

Wishpower and Performance
After joining the Phantasmoon Games, Supplicants typically announce their participation publicly to attract attention. This attention generates Wishpower, which they can use to perform increasingly extravagant feats. During the Phantasmoon Games, Supplicants are free from all external interference, allowing them to act without restraint. Creativity and spectacle are highly encouraged, as the accumulation of Wishpower is essential to attracting Aha's attention.[1]
Contrary to popular belief, however, the Wishpower gathered by Supplicants is ultimately channeled into the Panarch Elwood, where it is used to satiate the dead husk of Oroboros. Acording to Asat Pramad, the markings surrounding each Mask in Phantasmoon Courtyard symbolize this purpose, conveying a single message: "If you wish to lull the Voracity to sleep, you must fill them."[4]
Rewards
The Supplicant who rises above all others receives the Blessing of Elation and is granted a face-to-face audience with Aha. During this meeting, Aha listens to the victor's wish and the victor is granted Aha's divine authority for one minute. The use of this authority varies wildly, often with unpredictable and far-reaching consequences.[1][2]
During the first Phantasmoon Games in Amber Era 2158, Aha, speaking through the Phantasmoon, declared that the winner of that round of the games would become the true and permanent Aeon of Elation.[4][45]
Known Winners
| Names | Usage of the authority of Elation |
|---|---|
| Erwin | Said "whatever," erasing probability and plunging the entire arcadia into chaos.[20] |
| "Digital Maven" | Rented out their divine authority to grant trivial wishes, causing infants to randomly dye their hair and cockroaches to snore, amongst a plethora of things.[20] |
| "The Carefree" | Caused day and night to go out of sync, and left her house in eternal night.[20] |
| Murata Hiro †† | Requested to remove the Weathering Curse. Aha told him that the curse could be transferred to someone else willing to bear it.[4][46] |
| Soul Returner[47] | A Doctor of Chaos who attempted to create a universe with an afterlife to dilute the sense of emptiness that death brings to life. In Lafcadio and several surrounding star systems, "phantoms of death" from the past crowded every planet. This phenomenon lasted for several system hours, causing severe disruption. A witness later reported seeing the phantom of an Astral Express Navigator, Isee, the Starseer, briefly appear in Adlivun.[47] |
| Unnamed Victor | Victor who merely wished to glimpse Aha, declining all divine power.[1] |
| Unnamed Victor †† | Supplicant attempted to kill Aha and instead took their own life within the minute.[1] |
Rumoured Winners

The following people are alleged by the History Fictionologists to have won the Phantasmoon Games.
| Names[48] | Usage of the authority of Elation[48] |
|---|---|
| Unnamed Cremator/Riddler/Pure Child of Anāsrava Victor | A massive textual escape occurred simultaneously across the universe. On more than ten thousand planets, written words gained life and the ability to move, fleeing from information receptacles such as books and screens. The phenomenon ceased after one minute, resulting in the loss of massive amounts of technological achievements and historical documents. All information related to "The Eden of Blessed Insight" was erased in this event. |
| Adrian Spencer Smith | Believed to have written Fables About the Stars using the authority of Elation, then vanished afterward for unknown reasons. |
| Oswaldo Schneider | Rumored to have won the Phantasmoon Games in his youth, though his use of the authority of Elation remains unknown. |
