Description

The Interstellar Energy War is a century-long war^[1] that marked the end of the "Second Prosperity,"^[2] sparked by an energy crisis. It began during the Second Mechanical Emperor's War and bled into the Scholars' Strife.^[3] At the center of the research for a resolution to the Energy Crisis was the School of Interstellar Energy Resources, founded by the Intelligentsia Guild.^[1]

However, the Energy Crisis might have been a fabrication by the Interastral Peace Corporation in a bid for control over the cosmos.^[4][5][6]

A satirical poem that has made its rounds within the Guild for a century may explain everyone's enmity towards the School of Interstellar Energy Resources: The young own the most, the inept wear the crown, the laughable fill the stage, and the ignorant claim renown.^[7]

Meanwhile, fighting broke out across the universe in an attempt to gain control over known energy resources.^[8][9]

History

The Interstellar Energy War began due to an Energy Crisis.^[6]

The Technology Department of the IPC focused on resolving the Interstellar Energy War. The department made the "Perpetual Motion Project" to capture imaginary energy and use it. However, this project was a failure, and turned into a weapon of war.^[10][11]

The Intelligentsia Guild founded the School of Interstellar Energy Resources to research a resolution to the crisis.^[1] The IPC invested massive funds to supercharge the progress of the Intelligentsia Guild's breakthrough developments in multiple fields, including drilling, energy storage, and detection in order to achieve the goal of developing a new energy source.^[4]

The research of the School of Interstellar Energy Resources faced significant hurdles. Not only were they faced with technical bottlenecks, but there was also resistance from traditional energy suppliers. Even the different departments within the IPC had varying attitudes toward new energy sources.^[12]

After the fall of Rubert II and the end of the Second Mechanical Emperor's War, the Intelligentsia Guild needed to figure out how to fairly use the power of the Scepter System. A Futurological Congress was called at Sipohia. During the Congress, The School of Interstellar Energy Resources proposed that 95% of the computational power should be used to solve the four Cosmic Conundrums, the first of which was Energy Source. This proposition was agreed to by the majority. However, this would ultimately lead to a Scholars' Strife.^{[13][14][15][16]}
