Hahahahahahahaha! Thank goodness I came up with a brilliant idea this year and found this secluded island where I stayed for a couple of days to stay away from the crowds. And guess what? This year, I'm not spending my birthday in prison! Hahaha! On the other hand, spending days arm wrestling against Pale Red Crabs with a branch brought no joy... But now, the time's finally come. We celebrate, big time! Yes, yes, location first. How about the rooftop of Tenshukaku, yeah? The place's high up with spectacular views and looks majestic. I would look great there. A real man like myself should have his birthday celebrated on top of Tenshukaku! What about the celebration then? If it's not super-duper mega ultra awesome, it has to at least be mega ultra awesome! Fireworks? Nah, too much hassle. Beetle fights or card games? I'd win for sure... but I don't want anyone to lose today! Hmm... How about... roasting Lavender Melons? All good vibes and little could go wrong. But, it still needs to be grand! So we are going to roast... ten! Yep, you heard me right! I, Arataki "Live Long and Prosper" Itto will live as long as Mt. So, some bearded merchant from Shumeru or Sumeru or whatever asked Shinobu for a bit of a legal help, and whaddya know, in the end they ended up sending a ton of their local specialties! Check it out! there are even some golden Onikabuto! Awesome, huh? I've raised them to be huge and poweful, and now, during this annual celebration of the birth of the one and only King Arataki, I'm giving 'em all to you! How stoked are you? Oh, but that's not all! There's Seagrass from Shimura's, and Naku Weed from Tsukumomono Groceries too. I brought the gang down and worked for them for three whole days to score this haul. But hey, no biggie, what I earned, I'm giving to you! No reason, really, I just want my compadre on this crazy ride called life to be just like me on this special day — the world's happiest Oni! As the sayings go, time fries when you're having fun and weights for no one! Compadre, I'm sure by now news has reached your ears of how the Arataki Gang has reached new heights under my brilliant leadership. Whether we're talking the Beetle Battle Brawl or The Great Singalong, I've taken us to bigger, better, and bolder stages than ever before! The editor at Yae Publishing House said that if you buy the Ultra Deluxe Edition of "That's Life," you'd get the once-in-a-lifetime chance to send a long letter to Ms. Hina herself! So I scrimped and saved Mora for months to make it happen. But guess what? After I mailed it out, Shinobu told me there's some tiny print at the end of the magazine that says: "Please keep your letter within three pages. Any extra content will be trimmed by default." For real!? You mean to tell me... after I spent three full pages on properly introducing myself, the fancy compliments Shinobu helped me write, the outpouring of this oni's most heartfelt feelings, AND my incredibly handsome self-portrait... Ms. Hina didn't even get any of it!? Haha, impossible! They gotta be pulling on both my legs with that one! If Ms. Hina hadn't read between the lines and felt my true emotions, how would I have gotten a reply from her today, huh? That's right — she gets me! Get your butt over here, compadre! Good news, compadre! Takuya's getting out of prison real soon! To celebrate him turning over a new leaf and becoming a proper oni again, we're gonna make a real occasion out of this. First, the Arataki Gang boys will line up in front of the police station. Then Genta will give Takuya a good pat-down to drive away the bad luck, Akira will hand him the flowers, and Mamoru will whistle and clap to get everyone hyped up. As for Shinobu and Ushi... Ugh, those two are saying they want no part in this. That's not a big deal though, since the main event is all on yours truly. When the moment comes, I'm gonna deliver a power performance of "From This Day Forward, Be a Proud and Upstanding Oni"! And you, my bestest compadre, shall sing along with me! I've saved the most awesome verse just for you... and for Lavender Melon too. Sure, her pipes aren't quite on my level, but I've got her lines all ready anyhow.
