Long time no see. I was planning on sending you something, so I wrote this letter. I heard you're traveling all over the world. That can't be easy. I recently bought several new varieties of coffee beans to try out at home. After we compared the taste of each, we decided that this was the best. You'll find a bag of that variety attached to this letter, and I hope it'll raise your spirits in the days ahead. Life often seems as though it is a tapestry composed of undulating lines, but if it is at all possible, I sincerely hope the lines drafting out your future are stable lines, ascending upwards. Safe travels.

How have you been lately? I hope everything is going well for you and Paimon. The other day, I was at Treasures Street queuing to buy some snacks, and the two people in front of me were chatting about the novel they had recently read. I started listening attentively and before I knew it, I somehow listened to the entire plot... I also heard that there are some old books at the House of Daena that have been doodled on, but most of them were cute and encouraging artworks. I thought that was pretty interesting and wanted to give it a try myself. There are a few old books in my study that I don't read anymore. When I get some free time, I'm going to draw on them and then bring them to the House of Daena. Drawing and drinking coffee are both great ways to relax and unwind. You should give it a try too!

You wouldn't believe me even if I told you, but here goes: Someone was so lazy to give actual recommendations to a vendor on Treasures Street that they recommended *me* instead. Can you believe the nerve!? Long story short, the shopkeeper was getting desperate for ways to attract new customers, so I suggested a Dessert Tower Challenge — customers stack sweets like building blocks, and the taller the tower, the bigger the prize. Of course, there's a trick to the game. Personally, I would use Charcoal-Baked Ajilenakh Cakes as the base, Candied Ajilenakh Nuts for structural support, and stuff in Baklava as filler when needed. I've tested the structure, and of course, it's very sturdy. First place in the challenge gets free desserts. If you want to try, I'd say go for it. Of course, it's fine if you don't. As thanks for my help, the shopkeeper gave me loads of sweets. I've set aside some for you and Paimon, and I recommend that you enjoy them with a side of lovely coffee.

What do you think about Mehrak being able to go out and get coffee for me? That's pretty neat, isn't it? Recently, during its free time, it has gone out on occasion to wander on the streets. And after what happened, everyone is a lot closer and so they're quite friendly to Mehrak. That is a good thing, of course. Otherwise, I'd be so worried about it running into danger. But I never expected it to bring back fruits and vegetables this time... Like, why on earth??? I was so worried, I decided to secretly follow it to find out. Then, to my surprise, I saw everyone asking it to bring back the things they'd meant to take to me personally — Mr. Cyrus, Ms. Katayoun, the vendors on Treasures Street... It seems they were all just too lazy to make the trip themselves. In the end, Mehrak brought back a book, a few tomatoes, a large container of soup, and a bag of snacks. That's really convenient... Right? Uh... But why is it that I can't help but feel like something isn't quite right here...

| Huh? Why are you here? There's still some time to go before our gathering, right? Smile at the camera? Oh, right... I remember now. The Akademiya mentioned that we have to take commemorative photos when I return as a visiting professor to give lectures. I see that they've commissioned you guys with the job. Umm, does this work? It's nice to take photos on your birthday, sort of like a little memento. | |
| Perfect timing! I'm doing some sketching here. I recently had a conversation with someone, and since it's for the illustration of an old book, we believe featuring Aranara would be a great choice. They are full of life and are able to lift people's spirits, right? It's just that I've never seen them myself, so I have to rely solely on my imagination... I'm not sure where these little creatures usually like to appear. What do you think? How about adding them here? | |
| We always say that art transcends all barriers, and the way the music drew in these little buddies is proof of that. Back when I worked on a project in the desert, the rest of the team gathered around the campfire playing music together, and it attracted birds and Sumpter Beasts. They ate some of our provisions, and one large Sumpter Beast even helped us haul a good load of our equipment back to the city. Now that I think about it, Mehrak also sways along when there's music at home... Guess it has a knack for the arts too. | |
| After that major incident last time, we took the chance, while restoring the house, to go through all the books and decorative ornaments. Everything has been returned to its proper place now. Today is only a thorough cleaning. With weather this nice, it's a good day for it. Are you asking about Mehrak? It's taken a bit of an interest in tidying things up lately, and even comes to help from time to time. I always check everything over again at the end anyway, so don't worry. It won't cause any trouble. People get passing interests like that from time to time too. They usually don't last long enough to justify signing up for a proper class, but learning a little on your own is just about right. For instance, these are all hobby books I bought: "An Introduction to Coffee Machines," "An Illustrated Guide to Modern Feather Crafts"... And this oil painting, this decorative ornament... When you look at them all together, it's hard not to feel something. Time really does have a form, and yet it remains formless. |

| "You're right... A birthday is no time to fret. Thanks for your kindness." "Oh wow! Quick, come take a look — the sun is setting!" "It's so beautiful..." | |
| "The proposal's finally approved! Hahaha, those 25 revisions weren't in vain!" | |
| "So elegant... If I were to apply the aesthetics of this dynamic stability to my architectural designs, it should produce interesting results... Um, I should focus on the show and save that thought for later." |
