Today is the birthday of The Great Astrologist Mona! This special day only comes once a year, so we should go all out and have a big celebration! But alas... upon closer inspection of the shopping list, there are too many things to buy. If I bought it all, I wouldn't be able to pay my rent next month. Oh well, I'll just have to think about it later. I've been looking for more ways to make a living, so I got a few volumes of Teachings of Gold... but I don't know if I didn't read them well enough or if they actually had nothing to do with earning Mora at all. They didn't work for me, but maybe they might work for you. If you find them useful, do keep them. If you have time, let's meet up. It'll be the end of the month soon, so with the month's expenses out of the way, Mora shouldn't be a problem! Anyway, let's have a nice meal together! | |

I have been so busy with divination recently that I lost track of time and couldn't tell if it was day or night! I almost forgot which day of the week it was. Fortunately, the Editor-in-Chief of my column "All Things Astrological" sent a letter reminding me that the deadline for my latest manuscript was just around the corner. Truly, when it rains it pours... I fear that I no longer have time to go out and celebrate my birthday. But no matter what, today is an important day, and at the very least I must not short-change my precious friends. Attached to this letter is a gift. It is the "Rainbow Rose" that the editor mentioned, and I hear this kind of flower is quite popular in Fontaine, so it is perfect for a gift. And if you are willing, you can wish for me to finish my manuscript early. And the next time we meet, you can treat me to a bit of cake. | |

I pulled another all-nighter... But this time, it wasn't for finishing any articles. I stayed up only to greet the morning star, because... the improved version of the celestial globe I've been looking forward to for so long is finally being released today, on my birthday! So, I'm planning to pick it up from the store early in the day. For one thing, it's safer for me to handle such a delicate instrument personally. For another, the Mora saved on shipping, combined with my previous paychecks, can go towards the deposit for a new astrolabe... And there happens to be enough left to treat you, my dear friend, to a meal. Although I can't predict your future or reveal your fate, the Great Astrologist is here to cheer you on, and this meal will be a testament to that. Don't worry, I've saved up my payments for a while now, so there's gonna be more than just a salad! Please do come! | |

The editor of "Constellatory Talk" insisted I come to Fontaine for a reader meet-and-greet. They even covered several days of food and lodging — at luxury-level standards, no less! Not that I needed the pampering, of course. If it were coming out of my own savings, I definitely wouldn't be staying at Hotel Debord... I'm not that reckless with my money. People always say that living simply brings you closer to the truth of the world — but honestly, when you've earned something through your own effort, you should enjoy the rewards. So yes, I ate well, had fun, and fully made the most of it. Completely justified. It's all in the Scryglass readings, anyway! And, umm, I have to admit, the Vasari Passage really is a shopper's paradise. So many shops, so many sales. I grabbed a bunch of discounted ingredients to bring back, so that should shave a nice chunk off next month's food budget, thank you very much. Also found some rarer items you don't usually see around. Cost me a bit, but I got a few anyway. Here, you can have them. Materials and tools never go to waste, and I'm sure you'll find some way to make use of them. Don't get the wrong idea — I just didn't want them collecting dust. That's all. | |

So listen, I've managed to save up quite a large sum of money without even realizing it, and I find myself with some left over even after buying the latest equipment. I've checked my accounts multiple times, and sure enough, I have enough to go on a trip! But I'm having trouble choosing where to go. Going somewhere farther would cost more than I'd like, while somewhere close makes it hard to get that real vacation feeling... And most importantly, I have no idea where that old hag might be these days. If I happen to cross paths with her while I'm traveling, I'll be done for... *sigh* I've had my fair share of the misery of being broke, but I never thought I'd one day get to enjoy the struggles of having money too. Life really is getting better. Or maybe... I should just save this money for now? | |
