I do not feel much excitement for birthdays themselves. To me, it is as ordinary as the countless days that you and I have experienced. The sun rises and sets, the flowers bloom... Nothing more.

I can certainly see the reason why people value it. It is indeed a joy to gather and celebrate with important people on this special day.

If you have time, please come visit me. No need to rush, just come when you are free. And no need to bring any gifts, I will have the tea and snacks ready.

These ordinary days may turn into something different because of interesting people like you.

It's been a while, so I think it is time we met up. I've painted a lot lately in varied styles and with different themes.

After completing a painting, I like to take it out from time to time to admire the work.

People say that the purpose of a painting is to capture the beauty of a moment for eternity. But even the highest quality paints will crack with time, and that moment's beauty will long have begun to fade.

However, I don't mind this change at all.

When I find that the paint has begun to dry and flake, I will often brush over the fissures with new strokes, and the new piece thus created is one I can continue to cherish.

Just as people enjoy regular gatherings, seeing the wrinkles left by long years of hardships, worries, and lament on one another's faces thickens the bonds between friends.

Or perhaps for a painting, time itself is a kind of pigment.

Should you have time to come for one such gathering, we will be able to add a few more brushstrokes to the painting called "You and I."

Timaeus has been downcast for some time. Although he hasn't said much, I suspect his experiment to create an immaculate flower for his beloved has failed. This, I fear, might still be too challenging for him.

I chose not to assist, however. He must earn this success alone for it to hold any true value, and I trust he hasn't forgotten his original intent. Whether it be flower or ash, what truly matters is not losing the way due to a momentary setback on the journey.

Speaking of which, how is your journey in Natlan going? By chance, I came across a few pieces of Spinel Fruit from that land. Some ancient texts mention that these crystals are related to Phlogiston. The refining and preservation of Phlogiston within an alchemical creation is a subject that intrigues me greatly. As such, would you be interested in exploring this with me?

If needed, I can serve as your assistant this time. My knowledge should prove useful.

As you know, a special "new companion" turned up here in Mondstadt recently, and now, he's slowly establishing these intriguing social ties with everyone.

However, the complexity of interpersonal interactions often surpasses that of alchemy experiments. Like potions, words can speed a process along, while silence can cause the precipitation of some truly unexpected impurities.

Although Durin is often unsure, I have no intention of predetermining his path based on my observations. What I can do is simply help him broaden his horizons, and leave to him the power of judgment and choice.

I suppose your wisdom on the subject of interpersonal communication will be a profound source of guidance for both Durin and I, just as each of your journeys always forges a new path, creating possibilities far beyond the established course.
