Phew, managed to make my escape... That was a close one... As soon as they heard it was my birthday, the other reporters over at The Steambird insisted on doing an exclusive interview with me, saying they just HAD to write an epic exposé for our readers titled "How Charlotte became Charlotte"... They even said they were going to follow me around for a whole year and write up their findings into a long-read special, and then publish it on my birthday next year! ...Uhhh, no thanks! To buy myself some time, I told them I needed to go to the bathroom to get changed, then used the opportunity to escape through the window. It was on the third floor, so I had to climb down the drainage pipe to make my getaway... At this very moment, as I write you this letter, I'm over at Euphrasie's trying to keep a low profile. No one would dare barge into the Editor-in-Chief's house! The only problem is... now I'm stuck here... If you're free, hurry over and help me out of this mess! Please, please, triple please! Dinner's on me — whatever, and however much you want! | |

When I got to work today, Euphrasie placed a box of snacks and a thick press book on my desk. She said it was a record of every "big scoop" I've reported on since joining The Steambird. "Scoops that, if published, might be so sensational that you'd be forced to leave The Steambird or even the Court of Fontaine altogether, Miss Charlotte." Hehe... Well, she wasn't wrong. There were a lot of prickly publications-to-be in that book. But then again, doesn't this just prove how keen my journalistic instincts are? I'm sure you'd agree! So this year, I'm going to work even harder, and publish even better articles than ever before! But, ah... hopefully without causing too much trouble for Euphrasie and my father. On a happier note, try some of those snacks Euphrasie gave me. They're super tasty! | |

Not too long ago, I asked Freminet to do some maintenance on Monsieur Verite, and during our chat... well, after a bit of digging on my part, I finally got some details about how you teamed up to take on the Wild Hunt! But I guess all that prying made Freminet a little uncomfortable... my bad. So I quickly left a thank-you gift and took off, hoping I hadn't made him too uneasy. Then, when I got back to the office, I discovered that Freminet had swapped out one of Monsieur Verite's lenses for a new one, and the image quality is amazing! I'd like you to be the first subject photographed with the new lens — would that be okay? It's been so long since we last saw each other, and I'd really love to take a picture of you! Of course, I won't hide the fact that I'd like to interview you too... heh. If you're willing to tell me more about Nod-Krai while I'm taking your picture, that'd be even better! | |
