Local Legend

State Shift
Immediately enters the Scorched state upon spawning, indicated with a Fury bar. Unlike its original, it is able to shift between Scorched, normal and Activated states indefinitely. The Geoshroom has a Fury limit of 300, and it will gain Fury every time it takes Dendro DMG in either its Scorched or normal states, gaining 15 Fury for every Gauge Unit applied by each hit, and 10 Fury from gaugeless hits. Once the bar is filled, the Geoshroom will become stunned for 16 seconds and entering the normal state. In this state, it will lose 13 Fury every second, returning to its Scorched state when it reaches 0. If hit by Pyro DMG at any point, the bar is instantly decreased to 0. While in its Scorched state, all RES are increased by 120%.

In its Scorched state, it will use Projectiles, Sweep, Charge and Head Slam.

In its normal state, the boss will only use Roar and Kick.

In its Activated state, it will use Fungal Barrage.

Projectiles
Flings two Geo projectiles from its cap, dealing 60% ATK as Geo DMG. Only used in the Scorched state. This attack is affected by the Damage Sequence.
Scorched Charge
Charges at the player before flinging its cap upwards, dealing 60% ATK as Geo DMG. Only used in the Scorched state.
Slam Combo
Grows in size before jumping up and attempting to crush the player with its cap 6 times, the first 5 slams dealing 60% ATK as Geo DMG, and the final slam dealing 100% ATK as Geo DMG. After this attack, it will become briefly dazed before shrinking back to normal. The first two hits can be safely avoided with sufficient distance, but it will catch up for remaining strikes.
Sweep
If directly next to the Geoshroom in its Scorched state, it will sweep its head in a circle around it, dealing 50% ATK as Geo DMG.
Kick
If too close, briefly steps back before kicking the player, dealing 25% ATK as Geo DMG. Only used in its normal state.
Roar
Briefly roars for no effect. Only used in its normal state.
Fungal Barrage
When struck with any instance of Electro DMG in its normal state, the boss will dance around as a warning action, and increase its Activation progress by 1, which counts at most once every 3 seconds. After its Activation progress reaches 3, the Geoshroom will immediately grow in size and light up its cap. It will then jerk its head around, erratically launching projectiles that deal 80% ATK as Geo DMG before returning to the Scorched state with the Fury bar at 50%.

Descriptions

A mimetic life form made out of spores that has extreme adaptability.
This being has undergone almost complete keratinization due to the influence of Geo. When one considers that Fungi evolved from spores, perhaps this one might even be the foundation for a further evolution into some new life form altogether — if given time, that is.
This creature has a position of command amongst colonies of fungal beasts and exhibits heightened intelligence to match.

Said to be a descendant of an ancient deity widely worshipped in Sumeru, the World-Bestowing Lord, this being exudes an aroma uniquely rich and savory, one unmistakably belonging to fungi. The belief that plump shrooms are gifts from the gods, even manifestations of sacred flesh, has had a long and venerable history in Sumeru. However, the fact that the Dendro Archon bears no evident connection to the fungi at all has been a contradiction that has troubled Vahumana researches for years and years. Nevertheless, should they ever be granted a glimpse of this divine scion's true form, maybe they would also finally have the answer for this long-standing puzzle.

Trivia

Etymology

  • The name of the local legend is derived from the Sanskrit words mahā́ (Sanskrit: महा "great; large"), Vāsudevāya (Sanskrit: वासुदेवाय "god who lives in all beings; an epithet of Krishna"), and putrá (Sanskrit: पुत्र "son, child").
