Krsnik Noc

Last updated 2026-08-05

Krsnik Noc is a festival that originates from Snezhnaya.[1]

Trivia

  • The term "Krsnik" may have some relation to Kresnik's Torch, a piece of Snezhnayan technology used to fend off snowstorms.
    • In Kresnik's Torch, "Kresnik" is phonetically transcribed in the original Chinese text. However, "Krsnik" is not a direct translation of the original Chinese name for the festival, which suggests that localization teams may have been instructed to use that spelling; notably, the Turkish and Italian localizations, which were both added to the game in Version 3.3, use "Kresnik" instead of "Krsnik."

Etymology

  • Based on its name, Krsnik Noc may be inspired by Kupala Night, a Slavic holiday that celebrates the summer solstice:
    • "Krsnik" comes from the Slavic god Kresnik, occasionally spelled Krsnik, who is associated with the summer solstice.
    • "Noc" means "night" in several Slavic languages, including Serbian, Polish and Czech. (The Russian word for "night," ночь noch', comes from the same Proto-Slavic roots.)
