Merusea Village

Merusea Village is a subarea located in Beryl Region, Fontaine.

It is the home of the Melusines. It is located underwater within the body of Elynas and is described as "an adorable and mysterious village where even the chimneys bubble."

Merusea Village can only be entered from underwater, specifically by diving near Elynas' skull or in the pool just above the Beryl Region Statue of The Seven.

Merusea Village has no official leader, but Serene, one of the older Melusines, sees herself as the others' "big sister" and takes responsibility for the day-to-day operations.^[1]

Due to its secluded location, very few humans visit Merusea Village, but those that do always seem to enjoy the experience.^[2] A long time ago, the Melusines created special street lamps to light up the village, since visitors found the space darker than they were used to. There are also other human-inspired structures, such as swing sets.

According to a post on the Newsstand Board in the Court of Fontaine, bathing in the water around Merusea Village is calming and relaxing, and also makes one's skin soft and silky.
