    Appearance

    Chen Tianwu has a gloomy expression. He has short, messy grey hair and bags under his blue eyes. He wears a black choker, black jacket, and black pants; he has a pair of black fingerless elbow gloves, and a purple waist pouch on his right side.

    Story

    A major Honkai incident broke out in Manila, Philippines in 2015.[1] Chen Tianwu was separated from his sister in the resulting chaos. He was rescued from rubble by the Valkyrie Ana Schariac with whom he made a promise to safely get out of the city-turned-warzone. He was given one of Ana's pendants as a keepsake until they met again.

    The two reunited sometime afterward. During their short reunion, Chen showed a picture of his sister to Ana and explained that he was still looking for her. Inexplicably, Ana hurriedly left him after that, saying he could keep the pendant. He then proceeded to get treatment at another city while Ana returned to her duties. Unbeknownst to him, his sister had died before he escaped the city, with Ana being the last witness to see his sister alive yet running away in fear instead of helping her.

    Due to the treatment he received being insufficient to battle the physical erosion caused by the Honkai, Chen Tianwu searched for other ways to heal himself. He stepped into the dark side of society and joined the Thousand Fists Organization. The organization would later be destroyed by Raven, but Raven spared him because of her appreciation of his abilities and personality, and introduced him to the World Serpent.[1]

    After being promoted to a World Serpent officer, he was given the codename "Owl". With the help of the World Serpent, he prolonged his life by transforming himself into a cyborg using cybernetic implements and served the World Serpent in order to survive.[1]

    Chapter XVIII

    Owl first went to Coral Island to wait for Raven and Raiden Mei to capture a Herrscher for Project Stigma. World Serpent followed the signal and discovered the Herrscher of Ice, but she escaped. Later, Owl learned that the Herrscher that manifested this time was his benefactor, Ana Schariac. Later, after Mei and Raven found the Herrscher, Owl joined up with Mei to capture the Herrscher, but he suddenly ambushed Mei by disabling her using the Scepter of Duat and let the Herrscher of Ice escape, then stunned Raven to escape himself. Afterwards, he tried to bring Ana back to her senses, but Mei and Durandal interfered. When Mei fought Ana, Owl chose to protect her with his life, and successfully escaped with Ana when Mei hesitated.

    When he died, Owl witnessed his sister trapped under a pile of rubble and Ana standing there in shock before running away in Manila in 2015, leaving his sister to slowly die. Shocked and enraged, Owl, who became the Herrscher of Stars, then gave his core to Ana Schariac and fused with her after seeming to come to terms with it, which caused the Herrscher of Ice to transform into the Herrscher of Rimestar, hoping that she could "live on her own".

    Powers and Abilities

    • Cold Resistance: His cybernetic body allows him to withstand extremely low temperatures without much additional help.
    • Herrscher of Stars: His abilities are similar to those of the Previous Era's "Herrscher of Earth" that manipulated gravity, but because his abilities are not closely related to the Earth and minerals, he was given the codename "Herrscher of Stars" by Schicksal.[2]

      Owl was originally named Tianwu Chen and was the sole survivor of his family during the 2015 Manila Honkai Event. Chen's body was heavily corrupted by the Honkai and it forced him to find a cure. To do so, he joined the criminal organization named the Thousand Fists where his skills earned him a respectable position.

      Chen later met a rival mercenary named Raven. Impressed by his skills, Raven introduced Chen to the World Serpent after the destruction of the Thousand Fists. Chen accepted the offer and earned his alias - "Owl". With his extraordinary willpower and endurance, Chen was quickly promoted to an officer. His Honkai-corrupted body was also replaced with cybernetic parts.

      This second Herrscher has been identified as former World Serpent officer codenamed "Owl".
      This Herrscher's birth triggered a powerful gravitational wave eruption that destroyed 20 square kilometers of urbanized areas. We deduced this anomalous gravitational wave was generated by the Herrscher itself. Comparative data analysis found similarities between this Herrscher and the 9th Herrscher of the Previous Era (PE) - the Herrscher of Earth. We also decided to adopt this as the provisional codename of the current Herrscher.

      From the descriptions provided, the new Herrscher appears to control gravity itself and has little to do with earth, rocks, or minerals. Calling it the Herrscher of Earth is quite confusing. PE records shouldn't be copied verbatim. HQ has held an official meeting to discuss this matter. A decision has been made to rename it as the Herrscher of Stars.
