Dreamseeker/Leylah
Last updated 2026-09-04
Leylah is the second,[10] current Goddess of Mars[9] and highest administrator of the Dreamseeker System who initiated Dreamseeker's journey.[11]
Appearance
Leylah's appearance shares a lot in common with Dreamseeker's,[12] though she has white stripes in her long, unbraided hair, no glasses, and a different outfit. Her eyes contain rainbow irises with yellow pupils. For her top half, she wears a long black dress with magenta and golden accents, with white patterns strewn around. As for her bottom half, she wears dark semi-translucent tights with black heels.
Story
Part 2 Chapter IV
After Vita caused chaos and fear in Oxia during the second sector, Leylah appeared out of nowhere once Vita called upon Star Traveler. She promptly kicked Dreamseeker, Theresa Apocalypse, and Vita out of the sector, with Vita being blacklisted from the Dreamseeker System afterwards for causing havoc.[13]
Part 2 Chapter V
Leylah is mentioned multiple times in regards to her previous appearance. The first is when Vita is unable to access the Dreamseeker System, in which it's uncovered that Leylah blacklisted her.[13] Secondly is when Theresa questions Vita as to who Leylah was, and Vita answers that she is the goddess of Mars—a being that transcends human wisdom—who had existed since before the Great Eruption.[14] Vita says that Leylah is the absolute ruler of the Dreamseeker System who was the one to assign missions to Dreamseeker and who programmed them to repeatedly simulate true historical cycles in an attempt to resolve shadow calamities. That was all Vita knew about Leylah; she didn't even know her name.[11] After saying this, Dreamseeker's connection with Leylah was activated, and they saw her name. According to Vita, the connection caused Dreamseeker to experience Leylah's emotions and memories, though the reason for their connection was not specified.[15]
Part 2 EX Chapter 3
Ajita reveals that she created the Dreamseeker System after the conclusion of Sector One, following Leylah's demand for the quantum computer to be made. In exchange, Leylah gave Ajita unrestricted access to witness the entire dream-seeking journey and to provide her with unlimited work.[16]
Part 2 Chapter XIII
While in the First Dream and talking to Zhen, Leylah appears to Senadina as a small shadow named "Entropy". She jumps into Senadina's arms and gives Senadina's Expedition Notes to her.[17] Senadina and Zhen continue chat, meanwhile exposing that they had both named Leylah "Entropy" together after Senadina rescued her.[6] Leylah then brings Senadina to find Nahralab.[18][19]
Once outside of the First Dream, Senadina resolves to go outside of Rebel 2 and find the origins of the Endlessness.[20] Before doing so, she finds her real Expedition Notes, which reveal that after rescuing Leylah, they had freed her on day 852 since arriving on Luoxing, with Leylah being their biggest shadow monster found yet. However, despite her size, she was not aggressive, with her attacks only being aimed at herself.[21]
Senadina begins to encounter hallucinations after leaving Rebel 2, with the road in front of her stretching on and on, similar to when Elsie, who had also gone out, became stranded before mysteriously arriving back at Rebel 2. Later, due to Senadina's persistence in continuing forward, Leylah shows up. It is revealed that Leylah was the one who rescued Elsie previously and that she is inducing Senadina's hallucinations in an attempt to make her give up and return to Rebel 2 for her safety.[22] Yet, Senadina refuses to turn back. With this, Leylah says that, as a shadow, Senadina could see the Endlessness through her—though it would hurt and scare Senadina more. Senadina agrees to do it, and Leylah cautiously devours her.[23] By traversing through the shadows, Senadina meets Cocoon of Finality and comes to the resolution to weave a Great Dream[24] over the whole of Mars to break free from Finality. In response, Leylah asks Senadina whether she is afraid of the new challenges that would arise, to which Senadina responds that she is afraid but will conquer it with time, reliable friends, and shared love and warmth—which she includes Leylah in.[25]

- Vita: And now, within this gigantic quantum computer, she is the absolute ruler, the supreme administrator with the highest privileges, and the initiator of this whole dream-seeking journey.
- Vita: It was this whimsical goddess who assigned missions to DreamseekerDreamseeker, programmed her to repeatedly simulate true historical cycles in an attempt to resolve shadow calamities.
- Vita: Hmm… But all I have is indirect information like this... I don't know anything about who she really is. Just like you, it was the first time I had ever seen her, and I don't even know her name.

- Helia: It was you who wrought havoc in Oxia and even summoned that giant robot to tear down the whole city. I doubt anyone would let you in again.

- Vita: Simply put, that child... is the goddess of Mars.
- DreamseekerDreamseeker: There's a goddess on our planet?
- Vita: A being that transcends human wisdom, a unifier of authorities, a higher will... call it what you will. Yet, humans tend to refer to such entities, which they can only revere, as gods or goddesses.
- Vita: From what I've learned about Martian civilization, it seems she was already an elevated being even before this planet descended into its current chaos.

- DreamseekerDreamseeker: Leylah, that's her name... I don't know how to explain it, but I just feel like this is it.
- Vita: Ah, I see. Just as I expected, you were connected with her at that moment, and what you felt were her emotions and memories. As for why the two of you could connect, you must be aware of it by now, right?
- DreamseekerDreamseeker: ...She looks just like me.
- Vita: That's right! I won't try to guess your relationship... it's a sad topic for me, honestly. You might want to ask our friends from Earth; they're quite the experts in these matters.

- Theresa: Ajita, I want to know what exactly is this Martian quantum computer? And why you, of all people, are the one maintaining it?
- Ajita: Hm? Isn't it obvious? Because the genius scientist, all-purpose coder, and best contractor on Luoxing, namely Dr. Ajita, is also the creator of this quantum computer.
- [...]
- Ajita: After Perception was sealed by The Seven Shus and the Shadow Calamity came to an end, the one who showed up before Dr. Ajita, the Shu of Gadget, was possibly the most demanding client in history: Leylah.
- Ajita: This client requested for something unlike anything Dr. Ajita had ever seen: to build a simulation system that can retrospect the whole of Luoxing's history based on an extremely detailed and large database.
- Ajita: And this client offered Dr. Ajita extremely generous terms. In that realm without night or day, Dr. Ajita received the ultimate reward: eternal work.
- [...]
- Theresa: ...If I may ask, for an outcome so... wild, what exactly did your divine client pay you with?
- Ajita: Naturally, the right to witness the entire dream-seeking journey. The great Dr. Ajita always provides top-tier after-sales service for all inventions.

- Day 852 since arriving on Luoxing.
- Today, I freed Entropy. I don’t think it'll be a high wall blocking our path forward anymore. Sadly, it was already gone by the time I woke up. It was the biggest shadow monster we've encountered so far, yet it wasn't aggressive at all. Its destructive attacks were all aimed at itself. Before I freed it, just how long... had it been stuck in that cycle?

- ???: Go... home. Or... die...?
- The black creature murmured in a childlike voice, whispering its warning... and its threat to her.
- Senadina: Are you... Entropy?
- Senadina: ...So you were the one who saved Elsie when she was trapped here.
- Senadina: Thank you, thank you for bringing her home, and thank you for saving me just now. But I can’t go back like this, I have to... Ngh!
- [...]
- Entropy: Elsie dies... you cry. You die... I cry.
- Entropy: You left... couldn’t keep you. Now... must.
- Senadina: The hallucinations I kept running into when I set out, the road stretching on and on... it was all you trying to keep me here. Wait... were you beside me the whole time?

- Entropy: So... go home. Senadina... please?
- Senadina: I'm sorry. That's the one thing I can't do.

- Entropy: Everything... belongs to It. The big fracture... a shadow. I... a shadow.
- Entropy: We're... the same.
- Senadina: Entropy, do you mean that through you, I can also see Endlessness?
- Entropy: Through me... hurts more. Scares more.
- Senadina: Even if it costs everything that is Senadina, so be it.

- After a long silence, the black creature slowly moved forward...
- ...And cautiously devoured the girl before it.

- Senadina: Once the Great Dream was woven, reality became the raw material for it. And under the rules implanted by the Cocoon, contradictions are forced into balance.
- ↑ Part 2 Chapter XIII, A White Bird Flying Towards Tomorrow
- Senadina: So, I want to use this thread to channel the power of Finality and make the Cocoon, starting from the First Dream, weave a dream big enough to cover the whole planet. In the dream, we might be able to break free from Finality's grip.
- Senadina: Still, with truth and illusion inverted, reality and dream swapped, and the very definition of the world overturned, I'm afraid plenty of tricky new problems lie ahead of us.
- Entropy: Aren't you afraid?
- Senadina: I am. But I've got plenty of ways to overcome that fear.
- Senadina: With time itself, reliable friends, the love we share, and the warmth we hold in our hearts.
- Senadina: And you, of course.
