    • Ferryman is the original counterpart of the Captain in the Captain's Bizarre Adventure. He is the leader of a Hyperion ship whose objective is to collect Ether cores and save people. After witnessing many Bubble Universes and using his ability "consciousness mapping", he changed his ways.

    Appearance

    Story

    Ferryman is a captain of his Hyperion who travels the Sea of Quanta helping people and using his "consciousness mapping" ability. His overuse of his ability had side effects affecting his personality and at the same time creating the Captain, his counterpart, and assigned Rita Rossweisse (Fallen Rosemary) for the Captain's surveillance and security.

    Captain of Hyperion

    In an unknown world, a man just boarded a ship and was greeted by an AI that congratulated him on becoming the new "Captain" of the ship he had just set foot on. The AI also said the ship was made especially for him, and its name was Hyperion. The AI said that she could not accompany him to see how his story goes. Before bidding him farewell, the AI told him that if he had a problem, he should just ask the ship's AI for assistance and press start button to begin his journey. The ship then welcomed the man and awaited for instructions. The man then said "set out".[5]

    After four months at the Sea of Quanta, the Captain concluded that the world was like a bubble that could easily be popped. He then resolved to make a safe home for everyone and prove to the gods that humans could overcome disaster.[6]

    A Hero Like the Fabled Noah

    At some point, the Captain arrived at a Bubble Universe. Inside the Bubble, a world was in the midst of a disaster. The sky broke open into a gaping hole, and torrential rain poured down. Billowing waves destroyed a city, the ground subsided, skyscrapers crumbled, and mountains were sundered. The Captain then dispelled the rainstorms, allowing the sun to shine again. As the people danced and celebrated, they thanked the Captain and gave him a willow crown. Thinking he was like the person in their legends, they called the Captain by the same name, "Noah".[7]

    Then, suddenly, it rained incessantly, day after day, year after year. This time, the Captain couldn't stop the rain. The land became scarce, and plants hardly sprouted. The people of that world died from starvation and other misfortunes. The Captain returned the willow crown to the people and made a powerful shield that protected a city from the downpour. The city sank into the sea, but it rose again, still protected by the Captain. He promised the people, "all we had to do was wait for the return of the ark. It will take all of us to the new world."[8]

    The Captain fought a giant bull, but eventually, the evil bull's giant horn punctured the city's protective barrier. Seawater poured into the city, and people drowned one by one. The Captain managed to save one person, who asked why the Captain was crying. The Captain explained to that person about the Anchor, Bubble Universe, Sea of Quanta, and the destruction. The person didn't understand, but they told the Captain not to apologize. They said their world should have been destroyed long ago, but the Captain gave the people hope. The people of this world believed that the Captain would one day create a paradise where people could live in eternal bliss. The person then allowed the Captain to take the Anchor of their world. They believed that even if the Captain was not the fabled Noah, but just a "Ferryman" on the "sea," he would always be the people's hero.[9]

    After the Captain took the Anchor from that world, he also took the cow's horn onto the ship and put it in storage as a memento.

    Rescuing a Witch

    At some point, the Hyperion's right wing was being attacked. The monitor showed a girl tied to a wooden pole surrounded by eerie purple flames. The Captain rescued the girl from the flames and brought her aboard the Hyperion. The girl then fell to her knees, tears streaming down her face. The Captain asked if she was "Rita". The girl answered, "no... I am a witch". After living inside the Hyperion ship, the witch is later named "Rita Rossweisse".[5]

    Recruiting Members

    Sometime later, the Captain recruited more people to board the Hyperion. They included a great doctor, a scientist named "Tesla", a "free-spirited" person who challenged a mountain god in her world, a "kind-hearted" person who had great luck that her luck save the crew many times, and a child who was strong but had many secrets in her eyes.

    The Captain obtained data about the child when she was being experimented on. The data included information about her background and the effects of the experiments. However, instead of using her name, the child preferred to be called by her codename, Delta.

    • Side quest [Past Echoes] of After The Blood Moon Fades contains the history of Ferryman.[10]
    • The original crew in addition to featuring Rita Rossweisse (Fallen Rosemary), Delta, and Yae Kasumi; had three other members, one of whom must be Dr. Tesla (creator of Tesla ZERO).
      • Two of the members in question left the Hyperion and their status is unknown, while the last certainly died after leaving their creation, Tesla ZERO.
    • During his first appearance in Sanka Saga, he does not have a voice like the Captain, however, he gets one (going CN only) in the Honkai Quest event, whose identity can be confirmed with the Bronie event.
