    Story

    Part 2 Chapter I

Main article: Part 2 Chapter I

Dreamseeker leaves Antique Ink and hurries home for sleep.[15] While sleeping, they disappear into a dream with a mysterious person. The person says that she and Dreamseeker have met at unsynchronized times and that she's been waiting for Dreamseeker. She then invites them to have a dance, showing them the history of Mars throughout it[16] and making a covenant with them regarding saving the world.[17] The person introduces herself as Senadina. Senadina then explains Dreamseeker's origins to them before giving them an Astral Ring.[18] Senadina lastly asks for Dreamseeker's name[note 2] and says she will meet them on the other side of the stars.[19]

Dreamseeker then wakes up alongside a girl in a cube in the Sea of Data.[20] Dreamseeker instantly recognized the girl as the Senadina in their dream,[21] but turned out to be incorrect—the Senadina before them only remembered her name and nothing else.[22] Dreamseeker then also meets the two people who rescued them and Senadina from the cube—Erdős Helia and Coralie 6626 Planck—who introduce themselves as aliens from Schicksal.[23] Dreamseeker remembers the Astral Rings that they were given and hands them to the two aliens before explaining their previous dream to the group.[24] The three decide to believe Dreamseeker,[25] and Senadina then reaches out to touch one of the Astral Rings. However, the instant she touched it, monsters from the Sea of Data appeared.[26] After eliminating the monsters,[27] Dreamseeker explains the Astral Rings to the group.[28] Dreamseeker then begins to question their dream and reason why they woke up within the Sea of Data, which makes Helia ask Dreamseeker if they could sketch out the "dead planet" they saw in their dream.[29] The sketch ends up looking like Mars to Helia, and Coralie is convinced that Dreamseeker is telling the truth.[30] Helia and Coralie proceed to introduce themselves further as having come from Earth, and they give Dreamseeker a part of their travel log, Hyperion 11 Log.[31] Helia then agrees that, while there were many mysteries surrounding them all, they still all had the same current objective to escape the Sea of Data. After speaking, though, Senadina then yells for something to stop—which ended up being a dog whose howling supposedly attracted the monsters they had just fought.[32]

The group then proceeds to chase after the dog, fighting monsters while doing so. They lose track of the dog and decide on a new direction to take to escape.[33] Coralie and Dreamseeker then talk about the quantum space that they are trapped in. Dreamseeker introduces the quantum space as the Sea of Data, a space that only existed from the Great Eruption a hundred years ago and was what saved Dreamseeker's Bubble Universe.[34] Dreamseeker's communicator is then briefly activated by an unknown caller, who remains silent on the connection until the communicator disconnects.[35] The group then follows an energy gradient to find the dog and escape, though they eventually lose track of it again.[36] They then discover the moment in which Helia and Coralie discovered Dreamseeker and Senadina, which replays before them. Coralie expresses her suspicions regarding Senadina and Dreamseeker popping out of the cube, and Dreamseeker responds that such a thing actually wasn't abnormal and that someone manifesting out of the Sea of Data without rhyme or reason has been heard of before—though it was indeed uncommon.[37] They then see a holo-projection again as they set off, seeing a person carrying the same dog they were chasing. Soon after, Dreamseeker sees a holo-projection of Luo Chenxue looking for them in the Sea of Data.[38] Coralie then asks Dreamseeker what time their terminal said it was, and Dreamseeker realizes that they must've caught up with the Sea of Data's time fluctuations.[39] Almost instantly after, a Meteoroid: Guaymas appears in front of them. Once defeating it, the dog appears via a portal behind the group, which Senadina attacks upon noticing. However, upon attacking, the dog unleashes a wave of shadows at the group, consuming them all.[40]

    Part 2 EX Chapter 3

Main article: Part 2 EX Chapter 3

Following the completion of Sector Two's final samsara, Dreamseeker begins to remember the past—they remember the twenty-eighth time they met Vita after failing Sector One's final samsara, which made Vita technically their first companion, even before Coralie and Helia.[11][12] Dreamseeker laments over how Senadina's arrival changed the course of their failures in Sector One's final samsara and how their companions helped them achieve an ending they could've never on their own.[41] Dreamseeker then continues speaking with Vita regarding Sector Two's final samsara, with Dreamseeker asking to say one last goodbye to those within it, which Vita agrees to, though she offers Dreamseeker a question in reply as well: Was there any meaning in parting ways with people who only existed because of their choices?[42]

    Part 2 Chapter XIII

Main article: Part 2 Chapter XIII

During the battle with Nahralab, Leylah took direct control of Nahralab to try to kill Coralie. Since Helia was too slow to defend Coralie, Dreamseeker stepped in and took the hit head-on.[43] Senadina then appeared unexpectedly in the midst of the battle,[44] but Leylah continued to attack. Upon realizing that Leylah wasn't listening to Senadina, Dreamseeker immediately reversed the flow of the dream, sweeping Leylah into a time vortex of her own making. However, this only stalled Leylah for a few seconds before she seized control of the retrospective dream, trying to trap everyone inside of it. Fortunately, Nahralab was able to burn away the last of her life force to save everyone and strike back at Leylah. Senadina then tore open an exit for Coralie and Helia to escape,[45] leaving Dreamseeker to fight Leylah for control of the retrospective dream.[46] Eventually, Leylah manages to drag both Senadina and Dreamseeker into the retrospective dream. Senadina succeeds in leaving the retrospective dream using a different body and ends up asking Vita for help to save Dreamseeker, to which Vita agrees.[47]

Once at Dreamseeker's perspective, they are seen trapped and arguing with Leylah, who is attempting to convince them to accept death, using Mars' potential future as a threat.[48] To continue sacrificing Dreamseeker, Leylah then trades lifting the Sector for restoring the nearly severed connection between her and Dreamseeker.[49] Vita then goes to sever the link between Leylah and Dreamseeker. However, while doing so, Leylah notices that Dreamseeker was, abnormally, still struggling to escape the retrospective dream. Soon, Leylah realizes that Dreamseeker actually wasn't struggling but was instead absorbing the retrospective dream.[50] Leylah's comments make Vita realize that her attacks on the Shields of Connection weren't separating Leylah and Dreamseeker but were directed at something else entirely,[51][52] which ended up being Senadina and her connection with the First Sector.[53]

While touring Difeng with Senadina, they come across a frozen memory of when Dreamseeker and Senadina spoke before the battle with Nahralab.[54] The two talked about the retrospective dream they shared and Senadina's personality[55] before Dreamseeker asked Senadina a question, asking if they could still bring Senadina comfort as "future Leylah".[56] They chat some more about the younger Leylah before the frozen memory ends.[57]

Helia: Nothing. But, about that dead planet you mentioned...
Helia: Just to be sure, could you sketch it out? We have paper and pen.
DreamseekerDreamseeker: Sure, but my drawing skills might not be quite up to snuff...
    30. Part 2 Chapter I, Adventure in the Sea of Data
Helia: It looks a whole lot like Mars to me.
Coralie: Yes, the knowledge you possess is definitely not the result of a random fluctuation in the Sea of Quanta.
Coralie: It should be impossible for you to learn the true appearance of this planet. If the bubble universe you're in is as desolate as it seems, then you shouldn't have been able to survive.
      DreamseekerDreamseeker: ...?
Helia: What I think Coralie is trying to say is that through this drawing and the Astral Rings, you've gained her trust.
    31. Part 2 Chapter I, Adventure in the Sea of Data
      Coralie: Sorry, I interrupted Helia's self-introduction earlier.

Helia: Haha, we're in this together, so don't be so hard on me. However, speaking of this...
Helia: This is a part of our travel log. It might help you more thoroughly understand our origins.
    32. Part 2 Chapter I, Adventure in the Sea of Data
Helia: In any case, our current objectives ought to be similar. Although there are many mysteries around us, I would not advise staying here for too long.
      Senadina: Hey! Stop right there!
      DreamseekerDreamseeker: ...?
Senadina: Didn't anyone notice? It must have been that dog's howling that attracted those monsters!
    33. Part 2 Chapter I, Adventure in the Sea of Data
Senadina: Well, fortunately, they weren't too strong. Too bad we let that dog get away. What's the deal with that mutt, anyway?
      [...]
Helia: But now that we've lost track of it, we should decide which direction to take. That way, we won't be attrited by unknown enemies from staying in one place.
    34. Part 2 Chapter I, Adventure in the Sea of Data
Senadina: DreamseekerDreamseeker, do you have anything to add? You referred to this space as the Sea of Data instead of the Sea of Quanta as they do.
DreamseekerDreamseeker: Well, I've never encountered a generalized Sea of Quanta before. If I were to explain it based on the knowledge I learned from textbooks...
DreamseekerDreamseeker: Our planet was eroded by the Great Eruption a hundred years ago. Thanks to some kind of divine miracle, my homeland managed to survive and currently exists within the confines of the Sea of Data.
    35. Part 2 Chapter I, Adventure in the Sea of Data
Senadina: DreamseekerDreamseeker, look at your communicator!
      DreamseekerDreamseeker: (Unknown caller...)
DreamseekerDreamseeker: Hello? Can you hear me?
      [...]
The Other End of the Communicator: ...
      DreamseekerDreamseeker: Strange, I got disconnected.
    36. Part 2 Chapter I, Adventure in the Sea of Data
Coralie: The energy gradient heads in this direction. Let's get ready.
      [...]
      Senadina: ...Seriously? That trick again?
Helia: Too bad, it got away again.
Senadina: This little thing has caused trouble for us time and time again. Next time I see it, I won't let it escape!
    37. Part 2 Chapter I, Adventure in the Sea of Data
Coralie: That's beside the point. Something that happened not too long ago is being replayed by the Sea of Quanta right before our eyes. There's no way this is all one big coincidence.
      [...]
Coralie: One popped out from a stone, the other fell out from a dream... based on that alone, I really don't know which one of you I should be more wary of.
DreamseekerDreamseeker: It's not really all that strange to pop out from a stone. After all, this is the Sea of Data.
      Coralie & Helia: ...?
DreamseekerDreamseeker: Since she claims she's not the Senadina I saw in my dreams and doesn't have any memories before meeting us, couldn't one interpret that as the very definition of popping out from a stone?
DreamseekerDreamseeker: Someone manifesting out of the Sea of Data without rhyme or reason may not be common, but it's not unheard of either.
Coralie: You're not being serious, are you?
DreamseekerDreamseeker: How should I put it... am I not an example myself? Or rather, people like me or her who were originally born from the Sea of Data are quite common in my homeland.
    38. Part 2 Chapter I, Adventure in the Sea of Data
      Helia: It's that holo-projection again...
      [...]
Senadina: Who is this person? And why is he carrying... that dog?
      [...]
      DreamseekerDreamseeker: Chenxue?
      [...]
      DreamseekerDreamseeker: ...!
      DreamseekerDreamseeker: She disappeared.
      Helia: Someone you know.
Senadina: It appears that... she's looking for you?
DreamseekerDreamseeker: Her name is Chenxue, my senior. We both study the Sea of Data under the same teacher... though I'm still a newbie.
    39. Part 2 Chapter I, Adventure in the Sea of Data
Coralie: Forget about that for now. What time is it on your communicator?
DreamseekerDreamseeker: Uh... 10:29 AM. Why do you ask...
      DreamseekerDreamseeker: Ah!
DreamseekerDreamseeker: The recent communication record just said... 10:17 AM!
Coralie: Congratulations, you’ve caught up with the "live stream" in the Sea of Quanta.

    42. Part 2 EX Chapter 3, The Road We Once Walked, Side by Side
DreamseekerDreamseeker: Going further back in time would take us to a world where most of us here weren't even born. I want to take this chance to... say one last goodbye to them.

Vita: This is a story where you are the protagonist, and they are merely supporting characters who exist for your sake. And in this ending, they are but one of the many possible outcomes in a virtual history.
Vita: Is there any meaning in parting ways with people(NPC) who only exist because of your choices?

Coralie: Miss Seele's right! To be more specific, the instant we lost visibility into the system should line up with the instant Leylah took direct control of Nahralab's body and tried to kill me.

Theresa: Was Senadina's appearance part of your plan?
Helia: No. We were... caught off guard.

Coralie: Sena's arrival did turn the tide of battle... for a bit. I guess even she didn't expect sweet little Leylah to grow up into such a rebel that wouldn't even listen to her.
Helia: Upon realizing this, DreamseekerDreamseeker immediately reversed the flow of the dream, sweeping Leylah into a time vortex of her own making.
Helia: Unfortunately, that only held Leylah back for a few seconds before she seized control of the retrospective dream, trying to snag everyone in. If we'd also been swept into its vortex, the consequences would’ve been unimaginable.
      Coralie: Nahralab saved us.
Coralie: To break free from Leylah's control and help us strike back at her, Nahralab willingly burned away the last of her life force.

Leylah: DreamseekerDreamseeker isn't struggling... but has been absorbing the retrospective dream I command all along?!
    51. Part 2 Chapter XIII, A White Bird Flying Towards Tomorrow
Vita: Another strange thing is, if my attacks were the root cause of Leylah's pain, she should’ve reacted in some way when I stopped.
Vita: But instead, she pointed out that DreamseekerDreamseeker has been absorbing the retrospective dream all along, as if... my attacks on the connection were never directed at Leylah at all.
    52. Part 2 Chapter XIII, A White Bird Flying Towards Tomorrow, Skip Story Synopsis
The web of Connection extends beyond what the Eyes of Bodhi can perceive. Though Leylah has vanished from sight, Vita can still hear her cries of pain.
Leylah's unusual reaction makes Vita wonder where her attacks are directed.
Vita realizes that she has been deceived by Senadina. From the very beginning, Senadina had intended to ruin Leylah's plan by dying.
    53. Part 2 Chapter XIII, A White Bird Flying Towards Tomorrow
The connection isn't between DreamseekerDreamseeker and Leylah at all. It is between the First Sector and someone else's lifeline.
As for who the other person is...

Vita: Tell me, Miss Sena, are you truly so troubled by the thought of reuniting with me?
    54. Part 2 Chapter XIII, A White Bird Flying Towards Tomorrow
Senadina: Good evening, DreamseekerDreamseeker! Though I guess it's late enough to say good night. Did you... just finish today's training?
DreamseekerDreamseeker: Yeah, I just finished. Thought I’d come here to clear my head. Why are you still up, Sena?
Senadina: Things are changing too fast to plan for. I need to... think further ahead. But why come here to clear your head? The library's closer to the central park, isn't it?
DreamseekerDreamseeker: I just thought, if I came here to clear my head, I might run into you. What about you?
      [...]
DreamseekerDreamseeker: The day after tomorrow is the date Nahralab set in the ransom note. If I can't stop her, this tiny part will be gone by doomsday.
    55. Part 2 Chapter XIII, A White Bird Flying Towards Tomorrow
DreamseekerDreamseeker: I... I did see some things about you in the retrospective dream. I just didn't think it was appropriate to bring it up back then, so I've kept it to myself until now.
DreamseekerDreamseeker: You are, without a doubt, the most playful and curious person I've ever met.
Senadina: Pfft. Is that what you thought wasn't appropriate to say?
DreamseekerDreamseeker: Yeah, because it sounds less "god" and more "Sena".
    56. Part 2 Chapter XIII, A White Bird Flying Towards Tomorrow
DreamseekerDreamseeker: ...Sena, there are some questions I don't need to ask. I already know your answer.
DreamseekerDreamseeker: But there's one thing I don't know. Even if we've only spent so little time together, even if I don't have any memory of being raised by you, even if... all I have is this appearance...
DreamseekerDreamseeker: Could I still bring you some comfort as the future Leylah?
    57. Part 2 Chapter XIII, A White Bird Flying Towards Tomorrow
      DreamseekerDreamseeker: Sena...
      Senadina: See? I was right, wasn't I, little Leylah's second-favorite grown-up?
DreamseekerDreamseeker: Did I just... bump Nahralab and Litost down that list?
Senadina: Little Leylah told me herself. If you don't believe me, you can ask her yourself once we bring her home.
