Kevin Kaslana is the leader of World Serpent, who was trapped in the Sea of Quanta for several years prior to the beginning of the game's story. He is one of the 13 Flame-Chasers from the Previous Era, a group of super-soldiers who used to work with Dr. MEI to fight off Honkai 50,000 years ago.

He's one of the main antagonists in Honkai Impact 3rd, as his ultimate goal of eradicating Honkai from the planet is one he can justify using any means to achieve.

Appearance

Kevin Kaslana is a tall man with short white hair and blue eyes.

He wears a long black coat, white turtleneck jacket, and black pants. He has black gauntlets and a blue belt.

Story

MOTH Era

In the Divine Key manga, Kevin Kaslana is shown originally to be quite a picky young man. Attractive, talented and athletic, an array of girls were drawn to him. Although there were countless suitors, he only loved one seemingly unlikely match—the quiet nerd girl who always had her nose in a textbook, Dr. MEI. As the daughter of a well-known electromagnetic scientist, MEI aspired to become a scientist and was constantly studying at every opportunity. However, Kevin made his move, gradually opening up MEI's shyness, and her heart.

These carefree times did not last long, and the chaotic force of Honkai that swept the world, broke out. MEI, valued for her high intelligence, was received by the MOTH, and Kevin offered to become a soldier of MOTH for MEI.

In the confrontation between mankind and the Honkai, Kevin was supported by the power of the legendary "Divine Key" weapon made by MEI using Herrscher core, but he still suffered heavy losses. In the face of the 7th Herrscher's overwhelming power, MEI proposed to try to incorporate the genes of a powerful emperor-class Honkai Beast, Parvati, into the soldier's body in order to produce a super soldier who could resist the Honkai. Kevin voluntarily participated in this experiment. After suffering unspeakable pain, Kevin's body was imbued with the power of Parvati and came into possession of a strong freezing ability, and defeated the 7th Herrscher. However, as a result of the experiment, the temperature around his body was constantly dozens of degrees below zero, and he could no longer be in normal contact with humans, including of course—his beloved MEI, whom he could no longer embrace.

Because of Kevin's special constitution, he has become one of the very few human beings who can use Judgement of Shamash. But no matter how powerful its ability was, it could not restore the destructive blow of the civilization of the Previous Era by the Final Herrscher. In her final research, MEI's body was eroded by Honkai energy and her life was consumed by it. When Kevin withdrew from the battlefield of the Final Herrscher and returned to MEI, he found that she had completed the research on the stigmata of the Herrscher and had died safely. Kevin, heartbroken, was about to follow MEI to death, but was stopped by the sound of a baby's cry. The baby had a letter from MEI telling Kevin that the child was a fusion of his and her DNA and was an improved test-tube baby, which not only retained the gene of Parvati's freezing ability, but that also when he grows up, his body temperature will be no different from that of normal people, and that the baby will be called Adam, after the first man.

Kevin took Adam into cryosleep pods of refuge, where he slept for 50,000 years. At the time when the new human civilization was threatened with Honkai again, a man calling himself "Kaslana" appeared in front of people, holding a flame sword in his left hand and holding a baby, in his right hand, bringing new hope to that era.

World Serpent (Manga)

In the Sahara desert: Schicksal's forces could not find anything conspicuous. In Schicksal's Atlantic branch: the World Serpent transferred the body of the giant beast Chiyou by using the channel of Sea of Quanta. Due to this, Schicksal failed to trace back its source, and no further investigation was made. In a parts-processing plant in New Mexico: The processing plant owner stopped working for thirty years and turned the cobra statue on the table. The door to the dark room gradually opened.

At a Swiss bank, the bank governor transferred fifty-billion euros and, after reporting to Jackal, the red truck hit him. On his hat there was a golden serpent. At Anti-Entropy's base located in New Mexico, America, the owner of the processing plant killed the guard and reported to Jackal that "operations can begin". Jackal took off her Anubis mask at this moment, and smiled.

Within Anti-Entropy's base, Raiden Ryoma was talking to Siegfried Kaslana when the base suddenly began to shake, and then they were attacked by the unknown force, World Serpent. Finally, at a Pre-Civilization Site: The Gray Serpent sent Chiyou's body and the Cleaver of Shamash to Kevin. When Kevin got the Cleaver of Shamash, the Key of Destruction showed its strongest form—the Might of An-Utu.

Chapter XI

1,500 years ago, Kevin Kaslana was trapped in the Sea of ​​Quanta because of Project Regulator. During the experiments by Lieserl Albert Einstein and Welt Yang, the energy readings returned by Eye of the Deep determined the coordinates of returning to reality, but they were blocked by Welt on the road. The two sides met for the first time at this moment, and Kevin saw that Welt was the 1st Herrscher and fought him, but was stopped by Welt's use of the core created by the Herrscher's core to return to reality. Later, after experiencing the maze created by Welt, he learned his past and realized that he was not Unforgotten Apostle, but was fighting for humanity sincerely. So he helped Seele Vollerei, hoping she could bring Welt to Kevin.

Chapter XII

During Chapter XII, Seele appeared in front of Kevin after experiencing a mysterious world bubble. At the same time, Bronya Zaychik, who had traveled through countless dimension bubbles to find Seele, arrived, and a fight broke out. Kevin, at this time, showed them that the Honkai was their common enemy, and stated that he didn't want to be the enemy of them. But Bronya decisively denied Kevin's words to prevent the World Serpent from leaving the Sea of ​​Quanta. Bronya intended to be strong first, but fell because her body could not handle the erosion of the Herrscher of Reason's core.

Seeing that the situation was becoming increasingly problematic, Welt used the Herrscher's core to reconstruct his body. He attempted to grab the Gem of Desire from Kevin and protect Bronya, but his physical ability to reconstruct with the core power was very limited, and Welt failed. Kevin once again threw an olive branch, affirming the abilities of Welt, Bronya and Seele, hoping that they would join World Serpent, but Welt refused. Kevin then expressed respect for Welt, seemingly the great hero of this Era, but noted that they were too naive and would likely be killed this innocence. In the meantime, he proclaimed that he would rise and lead humanity to fulfill the ultimate mission of destroying the Honkai.

Afterwards, Bronya woke up from her coma, induced by her leaping into the Sea of Quanta. Einstein activated the Eye of the Deep, and Erwin Reanna Schrodinger helped locate them, and Seele, Bronya, and Welt were rescued and returned to reality. However, in the end, they failed to stop the Serpent from leaving the Sea of ​​Quanta.

Serpent's Return

During the sanctuary, Kevin absorbed Chiyou's energy to recover, and then picked up the Cleaver of Shamash ritual sent by the Gray Serpent. The form of the Key of Destruction changed in the hands of its original owner. The Key of Destruction - Might of An-utu.

Personality

In his youth, Kevin was an amiable and easygoing person with very simple aspirations—something that had garnered remarks about being shallow by the two people closest to him. Notably lacking in his own personal ideals or long-term pursuits, he eventually joined MOTH to help realize those of MEI, making her ideals his ideals.

The war with the Honkai shook Kevin deeply, and the trauma turned him into an emotionally (and physically) cold and overly-serious person. He became known for being very sparse with his words, believing that talking rarely helps, and to do so frivolously can be more misleading than silence; other times, he simply felt there was nothing for him to say on a matter.

In the Current Era, Kevin has become devoid of almost any emotional attachment, and possessed a single-minded focus on the execution of Project Stigma, so much so that he's unconcerned with other potentially world-changing events as long they did not impede the development of the Project Stigma.

In the absence of MEI and his best friend, he experienced great loneliness, yet he still carried the great burden of ensuring the survival of human civilization, until that responsibility became all that was left of him. His apparent lack of feeling was so great that even PROMETHEUS, an artificial intelligence who often acknowledged her own detachment from human emotion, claimed that she was closer to being human than he was.

Powers and Abilities

• Project MANTIS: Kevin volunteered for Project MANTIS and was genetically combined with the Emperor-class Honkai Beast codenamed Parvati.^[5]
