Vill-V
Last updated 2026-09-09
Vill-V was the 5th Flame-Chaser and the creator of at least three divine keys (the 2nd, 4th, and 5th). and the head of the MOTH's Engineering Department at one point. She had also manufactured artificial body parts for Mobius before, unaware of Mobius' intentions for doing so.[4] She is also the youngest master and owner of Helixcraft, and the inventor of many "Kevin Killer" inventions,[5] mostly made with the purpose of killing Kevin Kaslana.
She claims to be capable of partitioning her personality into different personas with their own unique function.
Appearance
Vill-V's outfit resembles the steampunk style, having many similarities like the cog decorations on her outfit and the color scheme. She has medium-length hair, with one side being blonde, and one side being brown. She has one braid at the side of her hair, and has four pigtails, with two pigtails on each side. She has light brown eyes with fuchsia accents. She wears a dark brown top with puffy sleeves, and wears dark brown gloves. She also wears a dark brown corset with dark brown shorts. Vill-V wears a dark brown garter belt on her thigh, dark brown striped socks, and dark brown thigh-high boots. For accessories, she wears a dark brown top hat, with various cog designs, along with a dark brown headband with two cog decorations at the side.
Personality
She claims to have partitioned her personality into eight different personas: "Vill-V", The Mechanic (sometimes referred to as "the Expert"), The Magician, The Occultist, The Chef, the villain, Kevin Killer Mk 5, and her original self.[6]
One of her recollections features an internal conversation between the Expert, the Magician, the Scholar, Model Five, and Vill-V. However, Vill-V claims that these kinds of conversations only happen rarely.
History
Early Life
Not much is known about Vill-V counting as she kept trying to cover up her past and remake it. When she was younger, she hated herself, her self esteem being incredibly low. She started to pretend to be someone else to cope with her own person. Which goes intertwined with her ability as a MOTH. We also know was that her roots were in Sundown Alley as a con-artist. Eventually being caught for her crimes, she tried to make up a persona of being an engineering student, teaching herself in the process.
The con artist, operating in Sundown Alley.
At one point, falsely mistaking the MOTHs for being the cause of the Second Eruption, she tried to take down the company, starting an attack with her machines against the organization. Even though she came close enough to be a threat, she was only one person against a powerful company, and failed. At first, the MOTHs decided that she was going to be killed for her deeds, but Elysia instead intervened, convincing them to bring Vill-V in the MOTHs instead. The process to join the MOTHs was a long one so meanwhile they exiled Vill-V into a deserted island. Having nothing better to do, Vill-V handmade firearms to arm the native monkey population on the island, which they quickly started shooting each other. Shortly after, she was freed from the island, and joined the ranks of the MOTHs.
As a MOTH
Even after the rather rocky start, Vill-V was accepted in the MOTHs as an engineer. She would be under Dr. MEI's supervision. Vill-V would later make the divine keys, whom at the time, were seen as rather useless. After seeing the demonstration of the 4th Divine Key, however, Dr. MEI would cut Vill-V's budget by 80%, making Vill-V's inventions only become more dangerous. Her inventions exploding would only become more and more like a normal occurrence which would make her suffer even more budget cuts.
Among other creations she has made, Vill-V is also notorious for her excessive amount of Kevin-Killers. Some were made for the other members if the MOTHs, such as Mobius's transportation device (being Mk 224) and Kalpas's gear (being Mk 104). She herself is a Kevin Killer with one of her personalities being Mk 5, which is implied to be the one that attacked Kevin in the recollections and turned into her Honkai Beast form, a spider. The following recollections tell that she once destroyed her whole laboratory and herself in the process of trying to kill Kevin, being found by Mobius, barely alive and being explained as how "her body was mutilated by scarring, and her clearly-broken arm was bent at an unholy angle". Even after all this, Vill-V doesn't remember what happened, nor could recognize Mobius.
As a Flame-Chaser
Vill-V was one of the thirteen MANTISes that survived the Tragedy of Binding, and, as such, was included into the Flame-Chasers, a group Elysia created with the thirteen survivors, to be a beacon of hope and unite the heroes of the Previous Era. Vill-V was granted the 5th Rank out of the thirteen. During the ending war of the old era, Vill-V's nukes were overwritten by the Herrscher of Corruption, who used the nukes to kill the population of the remaining three cities in the world. Filled with guilt, she had a talk with Su, which is when she asked him for the 5th Divine key. Deciding to change a weapon of mass destruction to a weapon that could save the remaining human population, she called it "The Suspended Key; The Great Hibernation".
The sim in the Elysian Realm would last be updated before the fight on the moon, which is why the Vill-V sim assumes she had died on the moon. Her assumption is correct, as Vill-V died in fighting against the Herrscher of the End, before her remains was thrown into space.
As a Simulation
In Elysian Realm
Vill-V finally reveals herself to the Herrscher of Thunder.
Vill-V was, like all the Flame-Chasers, made into a Simulation in the Elysian Realm with all her memories. This simulation included all her personality shifts, inserting all the eight personas into her simulation. The original persona would enter a deep sleep, however, not emerging for the next 50,000 years, alongside the Villain, who was sealed away by almost separating half of her mind into an endless void, containing the rogue persona. During this time, the personas that appeared the most were The Expert, The Magician, and "Vill-V".
Many successors were sent to the Elysian Realm during this time - it's unknown if Vill-V met them or not. When Raiden Mei came to the Realm, Vill-V tried to make herself the last Flame-Chaser to appear, saying that the best should stay for last and inviting her to her "magic show" - unknown to her, however, Aponia had yet to make her appearance to the Herrscher of Thunder. Defeated, she gave the Signets of Helix to the successor, helping Mei in her quest to reach the Deep End and fight the prophecy Aponia had made about her fate. In the end, it's revealed that Vill-V herself is one of the keys to unlock the Deep End, authorizing Mei to reach the place and fight Aponia to uncover the secrets of the Elysian Realm.
To the Flawless
In the story of To the Flawless, composed of Chapter XXIX, Chapter XXX and Chapter XXXI, Raiden Mei and the simulations are able to reach what's beyond the Deep End - a place called the Elysium Everlasting, made out of Elysia's memories. In there, Elysia promises Mei to reveal to her the truth about the 13th Herrscher - however, before she can do so, catastrophe strikes the Realm, and the sims' data begin to be permanently deleted, starting by Elysia herself.
Vill-V acts as a detective in the investigations, helping Mei, Elf Elysia and Pardofelis to find the culprit that could be behind the assassinations. For this, she makes a new invention - a big magician hat, able to read a person's memories and see their past - thus, proving their innocence by actually showing the one using the hat had done no evil. The hat is used by Mei herself, Pardofelis and Hua, all proving themselves to be clear of suspicion. The hat is then used on Vill-V herself, allowing Mei and Felis to see her memories. While the Herrscher navigates her memories, however, tragedy strikes and Pardofelis is killed inside the memory space, revealing that Vill-V herself was behind most of the assassinations in the realm.
The Villain reveals herself to Raiden Mei.
It is revealed that the culprit of most deletions is this era's Herrscher of Corruption, who had been recently born and latched on Mei's body, who accidentally brought it to the Elysian Realm, where it started being influenced by the Flame-Chasers and corrupting all it could see. However, when it came to Vill-V, the inventor started going through a transformation - the Villain persona surfaced once again, managing to kill all the other personalities inside herself, with the exception of the original one, still dormant. The Villain then struck a deal with the Herrscher of Corruption, helping them in deleting the sims from the Realm: however, Vill-V also secretly made a backup of all her victims, so they could still be brought back. She managed to delete Kevin, by making a deal with him, Mobius and Pardofelis, before being caught by Mei.
The Original Vill-V resurfaces after 50,000 years of slumber.
The inventor reveals that she planned on being caught by Mei all along by bringing her into her memory space, and that she plans on taking Mei down by sealing her off in her own mind. Mei fights back, however, and manages to find the memory space where the original Vill-V was, in the process. With this, Mei and the original Vill-V team up against the Villain, managing to defeat her with a final blow that brought back all the personalities to finish the attack. Vill-V and the Villain have a final talk, coming to terms with themselves. She reveals that the only way to defeat the Herrscher of Corruption is by activating Kevin Killer 666, that would delete the entirety of the Elysian Realm, and proceeds to have her own data deleted afterwards.
Vill-V's data comes back and is seen one last time in the final battle against the Herrscher of Corruption, in the Because of You short animation, before the entire Realm is deleted, helping in the fight as the Thirteen Flame-Chasers fight as one for the first time in history.
Trivia
- Vill-V's name is a play on how she has eight personalities (Vill, as in VIII, the roman numeral) and is the fifth ranked Flame-Chasers (V, as in also the roman numeral).
- Vill-V was the first Flame-Chaser revealed to the public in the first information about Elysian Realm's third chapter, but was the last one to be made playable.
