Murata Himeko/Story

Murata Himeko is known as the Ace of the Far East Branch and was formerly the Captain of the Hyperion.

Appearance

Himeko is a tall woman with red hair done in a somewhat messy, wavy updo with parted bangs, though her hairstyle changes depending on the battlesuit/costume. She also has amber eyes and fair skin. She utilizes greatswords as her primary weapon in battle.

Story

Himeko was born to university researcher Murata Ryusuke and her unnamed mother on June 11 in the late 1980s. Her father moved to Europe in 2000 to serve as the director of Schicksal's St. 7308 Labs, while the rest of the family remained at their home in the Far East. Sometime afterwards, Himeko's mother passed away. Because her father remained at his top secret position with Schicksal, Himeko lived alone for much of her teenage years. After graduating from secondary school, she enrolled at the California Institute of Technology to pursue studies in space engineering and astrodynamics.^[11]

Because Himeko was not born with innate Honkai resistance, she was transplanted with artificial stigmata developed by Schicksal.^[9] As a result, her body is now able to equip the Nexus Armor but at the cost of her lifespan.

Two years after her father's death, Himeko participated in the Honkai Fighting Strategy Unit Training Program - Valkyrie's first recruitment, and became the first batch of Schicksal's commando Valkyrie at A-Rank. She also joined the Valkyrie Assault Squad, commanded by Ragna Lothbrok, who became Himeko's close friend, teacher and influenced her fighting style with greatsword.

In 2010, the Valkyrie Assault Squad was nearly annihilated in a mission.^[10] Her teacher, Ragna, also died in that mission.^[7] The Squad was disbanded and never re-established.^[10]

Story

Chapter I

Himeko commands the Valkyries of St. Freya High—Kiana Kaslana, Raiden Mei, and Bronya Zaychik—over comms with the intent of taking control of Selene, a battleship that poses a threat to Sapphire and its inhabitants as the ship's unmanned and on a crash-course towards the city. She also has control over battle drones used through the city to defend it from Honkai Beasts. She continues to command the Valkyries until their communication is cut off when Bronya's bio-chip goes out of control. Once the comms are back online, she's asked by Bronya to arrange medical check-ups for her.

Chapter II

Himeko's teaching the St. Freya students as usual after Selene's captured. She is asked by Theresa Apocalypse to give Kiana remedials before the annual Valkyrie Examination. She gives Kiana extra theory classes, but delegates Kiana's combat training to Fu Hua while she attends a "booze party". The next day, she finds Kiana at the training plaza and discusses Bronya's strange behavior. Himeko doubts the reports stating it's the fault of energy emitted by the Selene, but drops the topic once Kiana compares what happened to a game scenario. The two are soon joined by Theresa who came to reprimand Himeko for her overuse of alcohol as it sets a bad example. Seeing that even the always-slacking Kiana is now earnestly training, Himeko demonstrates how to properly protect mission objectives. As one of the teachers, she's naturally also present at the exams once they start.

Chapter III

Himeko briefs Kiana about the mission and the Gem of Desire and states that a covert research program was started to use this Gem and develop weapons capable of fighting a Herrscher after Schicksal got a hold of it. However, the research program failed and the Gem was kept in the Oceania Branch ever since. Himeko later receives additional information from Theresa, who retells the story behind the Gem of Desire and what became of it. After Himeko and the girls arrive in New Zealand, she gives them an introduction on Wendy, a former A-Rank Valkyrie who has the Gem contained within her.

A light conversation ensues between Kiana and her friends with Wendy where Wendy wants to be like Bronya and be able to walk with an exoskeleton. During the mission, Bronya requests Himeko to remove the gem immediately but Himeko refuses, stating that the gem is unstable and can blow up if left unprocessed. Wendy interrupts them, saying that it is the duty of Valkyrie like herself to sacrifice for greater good. As they successfully fend off Honkai beasts at the rendezvous point, they wait for the Hyperion to arrive. However, the Honkai Impact energy level spikes from Wendy and her attitude immediately changes to bloodlust. With this sudden change, Himeko who is behind the screen wonders whether she has successfully harnessed the gem's power or has been corrupted by the Will of Honkai.

After Wendy becomes hostile, Kiana and her friends are forced to fight against her. Fortunately after some clashes, Wendy retreats for the time being. Himeko reports this incident to HQ to dispatch an S-Rank Valkyrie due to high risk of letting Wendy roam free. Kiana and her friends have 30 minutes to find her. During their search, Himeko reports several pieces of bad news to them. First, Wendy has been classified as 4th Herrscher and they dispatch the strongest S-rank Valkyrie, Durandal. Second, several battleships from Anti-Entropy are coming to this location too, possibly to retrieve the Gem of Desire as well. Taking this opportunity, Theresa purposely reveals Durandal's location in the public channel to be intercepted by the battleships so both of them engage in battle, giving Kiana and her friends more time to find Wendy. Himeko remarks that Durandal is quite gullible after she readily gives Theresa her co-ordinates.

After finding Wendy, Kiana and her friends manage to get Wendy to regain her senses after a conversation. However, Cocolia suddenly interjects, hacks and orders Bronya to attack the 4th Herrscher. Wendy is enraged and attacks them again. Anti-Entropy's mech troops arrive and attacks Wendy with one shot, rendering her unconscious. and the hijacked Bronya knocks back Raiden Mei from behind and falls to the ground. Kiana is heavily outnumbered and is forced to surrender. Hyperion and Himeko's forces are about to arrive soon which causes Anti-Entropy to fall back, capturing the hijacked Bronya, Wendy and Mei. Kiana, who was rescued, had no choice but to return to St. Freya High to devise a rescue plan with Theresa and Himeko.

Personality

As an officer from the organization, Schicksal, Himeko takes her job very seriously. She considers herself a warrior who fights Honkai beasts and protects innocent lives. Himeko is very headstrong, to the point where some may consider her reckless. She will go out of her way to act strong in front of her comrades to inspire them to keep fighting. Himeko is also considered a genius, as she graduated high school at the top of her class.

Outside of work, though, Himeko is quite lazy and messy, a fact only known by those close to her. Evident by the fact that prior to Kiana, Mei, and Bronya moving in, her apartment was so dirty it can only be described as a dump site by Kiana. Her competency at work is also often questioned by Theresa and her closest subordinate, which the former states that Himeko often drinks at work. Her recklessness is also considered her greatest weakness, which Theresa warns will one day become Himeko's downfall.

Himeko is quite an alcoholic, and would often drink at work. She would often climb up to Kiana's bed after a drunk night out at the bar, much to the latter's dismay. Himeko is also considered a hopeless romantic, as her relationships never end well, usually due to work. Despite this, she is determined in finding a partner before her time runs out.

Underneath her headstrong persona, Himeko is a caring individual who worries about her comrades. Secretly, she ponders about the future of her students (especially the Squad V members,) and worries what will happen to them if she's not around anymore.

Despite all that, Himeko is dedicated to her job and protecting the ones she care about, and she would never hesitate risking her own life in order to save another.

• When studying at the University of California, Welt Yang was the teacher of Himeko, who seems to have a good impression of him.
  • During her college years, Himeko was an avid fan of UFO hunting, and was the sole member of the extraterrestrial research club.
• At the age of 21, she earned The Degree of Master of Science Aerospace.
• Himeko has a student no. 867454 on her student card.
