Astral Assemblage
Last updated 2026-09-09
Astral Assemblages, also known as the Tzitzimimeh,[1] are miniature celestial bodies[2] created by Xiuhcoatl to combat the Abyss.
Overview
Astral Assemblages are accumulations of Phlogiston, coalesced under immense pressure into floating, controllable spheres of heat. Their creation is akin to star forging itself. Kukulkan described their formation as "something equivalent to a celestial body in miniature" and hailed it as a grand achievement, comparable to lunar reconstruction.
These Astral Assemblages attach themselves to the Abyss, using mutual annihilation reactions to hold it at bay. However, they cannot distinguish between friend and foe, which is why Xiuhcoatl sought to phlogistonize Natlan using Huitzilopochtli first.[1]
There are three Astral Assemblages in the Ancient Sacred Mountain, located at the Summoning Hall, Sea of Shifting Sentience, and Flame-Melding Ritual Grounds, respectively. During the World Quest The Frozen, Rekindling Land in Series Chronicler of the Crumbling City, the Traveler activates these Assemblages to break the seal on the Sacred City of Tollan.
Trivia
- Tzitzimimeh is the plural form of Tzitzimitl, a type of celestial deity associated with stars in Aztec mythology.
